Summary
The Erik’s Front End Cashier is responsible for providing exceptional customer service. 
 
Position Details
The primary responsibilities of this position are limited to:
Store Operations
 
  • Greeting customers as they enter the store.
  • Assisting customers with bringing in items from their vehicles
  • Assisting customers out to their vehicles with items.
  • Ringing out daily customer sales transactions.
  • Ringing out layaway transactions, except any bicycle, child trailer, snowboard, or ski related invoices.
  • Ringing out Service Repairs.
  • Positioning behind cash wrap, unless assisting customers with items in or out of the store.
 
Development
 
  • Continually learn and improve upon the usage Erik’s point of sale system.

      • Clearly explain and demonstrate products to customers.
      • Utilize sales training to achieve a high level of personal sales.
      • Apply customer service skills to exceed customer’s expectations.
      • Process sales, returns, layaways, and void transactions.
      • Provide feedback to the Store Manager on ideas to increase sales.
      • Promote Erik’s mission, values, and standards.
        Store Operations
      • Responsible for following all store policies and procedures.
      • Ensure the store is properly merchandised to plan and presents a clean and welcoming appearance.
                  Development
      • Continually attend training sessions to enhance product knowledge.

        • Complete repairs and maintenance of bicycles and install accessories in a timely manner.
        • Ensure understanding of customers needs and clearly explain any concerns.
        • Apply customer service skills to exceed customer’s expectations.
        • Process parts sales and check in/out bikes following proper procedures.
        • Provide feedback to the Service Manager on ideas improve the department.
        • Promote Erik’s mission, values, and standards.
          Store Operations
        • Responsible for following all store policies and procedures.
        • Maintain a clean work area and assist in keeping the store presentable.
                    Development
        • Continually attend training sessions to enhance mechanical skills and familiarity of products.
          Position Requirements Experience
        • Prior bicycle mechanic or assembly experience.

          • Utilize sales training to achieve a high level of personal sales.
          • Ensure the store is properly merchandised to plan and present a clean and welcoming appearance.
          • Act as a role-model in promoting Erik’s mission, values, and standards.
            Store Operations
          • Responsible for the completion of opening and closing procedures as scheduled.
          • Ensure store policies and procedures are adhered to and operations are efficient and safe.
          • Assist Store Manager with completing physical inventory and scheduling as needed.
          • Create and maintain relationships with all Erik’s staff and vendors.
                      Development
          • Continually attend training sessions to enhance product knowledge.
          • Assist the Store Manager is coaching staff to improve customer service and sales.
            Position Requirements Experience
          • Three years of retail sales experience.

              • Assist the Regional Manager in identifying and developing future Service Managers.

                • Utilize sales training to achieve a high level of personal sales.
                • Ensure the store is properly merchandised to plan and present a clean and welcoming appearance.
                • Exercise discretion in customer pricing similar to that exercised by Store Manager.
                • Promote and exhibit Erik’s mission, values, and standards.
                • Together with Store Manager, is ultimately responsible for Store performance.
                  Store Operations
                • Responsible for serving as the Acting Store Manager in his or her absence.
                • Ensure store policies and procedures are adhered to and operations are efficient and safe.
                • Assist Store Manager with completing physical inventory.
                • Provide recommendation on Store staff scheduling and coverage levels, based on analysis of Store needs and sales goals.
                • Create and maintain relationships with all Erik’s staff and vendors.
                              Developing Staff
                • Assist in conducting employee training.
                • Encourage staff to engage and create a positive atmosphere for Erik’s customers and employees.
                • Assist the Store Manager in coaching staff to improve customer service and sales.
                  Position Requirements Experience
                • One years of retail management experience or a successful track record as an Erik’s store Assistant Manager.
                Skills

                  • Encourage staff to engage and create a positive atmosphere for Erik’s customers and employees.
                  • Continually coach staff to improve customer service and sales.
                  • Works closely with Erik’s Training Department to develop solutions for individual needs.
                  • Partner with the Human Resources Manager on employee reviews and performance concerns.
                  • Assist the Regional Manager in identifying and developing future Managers, Assistant Managers, and Service Managers.
                  Position Requirements Experience
                  • Three years of retail management experience or a successful track record as an Erik’s store Assistant Manager.
